I am talking about MIT Media Lab's inititative to provide computing to poor kids of world. Enough introduction. I am so excited about the whole stuff. I don't care about numbers it's going to sell. I am happy that, it's possible. It will be a proff that real good things can be provided cheaply if only one is willing to share and work with others.
Why should Planes be so expensive? Why should automobiles be so expensive? We need open source of everything. Design of evrything. Atleast offset by 5 yrs. That is a car which is 10 yrs old and is no longer selling in western markets can probably be produced very cheaply for other nations since all assets must have been depreciated by then.
Same with computers. Same with machinery. With books. With initiatives likes Google print, wikipedia, $100 laptop, open source OS, applications, Hardware designs, there is after all a hope for world. :)
