My Review of Motorola KRZR K-1.

I bought the phone for 15000+. I researched (as usually) a lot into mobiles. Wanted to go for a Nokia. Considered Nokia -72, 73, 93..., Sony Eriksson K750i, k790i, w....Wanted a series 60 phone for applications. Like spycam. ;) err, I mean chessmaster, puzzle games..Considered sony phones for their music stuff. Then why didn't I go for them.
Didn't like the looks, weight, features or combination of them. I was getting vexed with too many models and not a single good model for my requirement.
Went to a mobile shop taking my 3 kids.I saw a nice package. (K1) And was also interested in A1200 aka motorola ming. Based on my appearance, my outdated mobile and my raucous kids, the salesguy refused to demo the units. I felt offended at his racism. :)
I wanted to buy one from other shop and then flaunt that before these guys. Cinematic thinking.
Anyway, I thought enough is enough and went for KRZR- K1 after reading some reviews over web.
Pricey for my tastes, but fine with that.
Model looks great. Hardened blue glass on top, 2 MP camera, stereo headset, Sudoku preinstalled (yay, my fav timekiller these days) , stylish, long, narrow, thin.
First impression. Good.
It takes some time to get used to flat keypad. It's finger print magnet. Preinstalled cricket game is stupid. Manual doesn't talk about GPRS. Have to drill down menus for some common stuf. Or probably this is some Nokia fan talking here. Has a separate icon for Google. Ofcourse finding it difficult to activate my GPRS.
Picture quality varies. it's ok. They can get blurry if you are in a hurry. Has some options for exposure, effects like negative, B&W,..
Video quality is good. It comes with 512 mb microsd card. Pleasantly surprised with that. Sd card adapter is supplied. Come with a USB cable. When phone is connected to laptop, detected as storage medium. Lot of games are available over net. I installed german version of chessmaster. :) Oh no, I a going to uninstall cracked version and buy a 3$ version and then spend rest of my life honing my chess skills.
It's finger magnet. And it's also chick magnet. Kidding. But all those who take me for granted were interested in mobile till the battery had run out each time.
Final comments. 3000 less, it will be a perfect mobile. Where's my next customer who's going to pay me 3000rs more for my services.

My gadget glitch continues. My new laptop restarts every one mt. I am happy with cell phone. Except with non working GPRS. (Problem with service provider).
Reading a book about primes. Life is good. And hopefully it will be good after 4/5 days. After one mont more good. My holiday to US is getting postponed.
Kids at school. Eldest one is misbehaving. Being too lazy to write things. Verbal -ready, games - ready, lunch -ready, writing - not ready. We will remain sadists. He has to learn somethings by force. :)
Second one chats "I won't go to school" 100 times before going to school.He is most happy when he is one his way back home. :) Surprised to learn from his teacher that, he is being disciplined.

Review. Mobile is great. Looks fantastic. Features good. But then, since I bought that, it must be jinxed in someway or another. It is. I could not discover a way to change GPRS settings by myself, through web, through custmer service. :(

Laptop review. 15.4 inch screen, webcam integrated, nvidia 7400 graphics, discrete 256 mb vram (not sure), core duo, 1 gb ram , 80 gb harddisk (?), windows MCE os. Actually didn't open the package yet.

Life is good. :)

Kids

Normally I live in a small town. For some reason, I am living in a big city now. Relocation :: Kids, school, work, lifestyle changes...
So far, so good.
My first son's new teacher impressions within one hr.
"He is smart, very smart. Very poor handwriting. No inhibitions. No procedures. Probably lazy".
We too have similar impressions. ;)
Second son. Resists going to school. Once he lands there, does fine.
I always hated living in a city. Looks like I don't have option for next few months atleast.
